How USDT becomes US dollars on a bank account

  1. 1You transfer USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) to your segregated wallet at XEROF. Other networks are not accepted.
  2. 2You convert in XEROF Online at the live rate, sourced from tier 1 liquidity and passed through at cost, with the brokerage fee shown separately.
  3. 3USD leaves to a bank account in your own name, or to a third-party beneficiary, over Fedwire, RTP, ACH and SWIFT.

USD settlement: rails, timing and who uses it

The dollar is the currency most stablecoins are pegged to, so a USD settlement is mostly a question of rails and timing rather than rate: the mid-market sits within a few basis points of parity. Fedwire and RTP settle the same day in US banking hours; ACH takes a business day; SWIFT reaches dollar accounts anywhere, including the USD corridor to China.

US and international companies holding stablecoin treasuries, funds and family offices settling to dollar accounts, and payers using the United States corridor to pay suppliers in USD.

USDT is the most widely held dollar stablecoin and the one most often received from counterparties and venues. XEROF accepts it on Ethereum (ERC-20) only; a TRC-20 balance has to be moved to Ethereum first, which the sender does on their own side before transferring.

Every conversion is priced from tier 1 liquidity and passed through at cost, with the brokerage fee shown separately and a minimum of USD 200 per transaction; each outgoing USD payment carries the USD 50 fiat withdrawal fee. XEROF is a brokerage and settlement counterparty, not an exchange, and your USDT sits in a segregated wallet under Swiss regulated custody until it is converted.

Common questions

Does a USD settlement have to go to a US bank?
No. Dollars can be paid over SWIFT to a USD account at a bank outside the United States, including the dedicated USD corridor to China. RTP and ACH are for US accounts.
I hold USDT on Tron. Can I still settle?
Only after moving it to Ethereum (ERC-20) with the wallet or venue that holds it. XEROF cannot credit a TRC-20 transfer.
Is the USDT/USD rate on this page the rate I will get?
No. It is the indicative mid-market rate from our liquidity venue, refreshed every 30 seconds. The rate you execute at is the live rate in XEROF Online at the moment you confirm, and the confirmation shows it with the fee.
Can the US dollars go to someone else's account?
Yes. A third-party payout carries an additional 0.25% for beneficiary screening. The corridor page sets out the limits, rails and documents.
